You will have breakfast in your accommodation followed by full-day game drives in the reserve. Selous is home to a large population of elephants, a big number of buffalos and wild dogs. Other species commonly seen are lions, bushbucks, impalas, giraffes, elands, baboons, zebras, kudus and crocodiles. Your overnight stay will be at the Selous Hippo Camp or Selous Ngalawa Camp.
In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to Mikumi National Park for another game drive. Whilst on safari, you can see a rich variety of bird species, as well as large numbers of giraffes, buffalos and elephants. If you are lucky, you may also be able to spot lions, leopards and African wild dogs. Likely to be seen animals include zebras, hippos, hartebeests, wildebeests, impalas, warthogs, elands and antelopes. Several observation towers enable you to have an overview of the park in its entirety. Your overnight stay will be at Camp Bastian on a full-board basis.
In the early morning at 6:30 am before breakfast, you will walk to a Maasai Village. The boma located at Mikumi village will welcome you then one of the Maasai guides will explain the Maasai way of life, past and present. You will also have a chance to learn about their culture and dance then walk back to the hotel for breakfast before driving back to Dar es Salaam.
